Margaret Weissman a good fantasy author? May it not be so. Rather, Tolkien, the Silmarillion to be exact. Full of elves and dragons yet beyond by far the some what lax education that is produced of late.

@wolfe: We all have different backgrounds - different educations - and that's what is so cool about communicating with each other. My thoughts are filled with Nordic/Scandinavian/Yiddish phrases and colloquialisms, but I try not to inflict them on others. NB (or nota bene) isn't nearly so obscure.

And, for the record, rocket scientists aren't famous for their grasp of conversational English, anyway.

Female is entirely correct. I apologize for being unclear. I can only plead ignorance as a defense. I grew up in a bunch of different places and so I have only a hazy idea of what a 'normal' education is.

Yep, Note well, or "Important:". To me, it, like i.e., etc., et. al. and others are English. I recognize not everyone feels that way.

I assure you, I wouldn't be so egotistical as to use a "New Beginning" type formulation that I'd invented.

If there are other quirks of understanding, please let me know. I'd like my writing to be good -- but comprehensible. And if a rocket scientist is puzzled by a part of it, that doesn't bode well!

@Female: Wow...good on you. I was only a passable student of quasi-Latin (pre-med days) many years ago. PRN / NPO / TID I have mastered. The rest? Not so much.
