I might be very slightly mischaracterizing what she said. Only slightly though. Surely.

Blue Footed Boobie:
These aren’t antarctic, but Galapagos in origin. They look kind of cross-eyed when viewed head on, and they have a peculiar mating dance. As a result, the Spanish characterized them as ‘bobos’ (clowns), hence ‘boobies’. That said, they dive spectacularly, have some red-footed cousins, and are generally very good hunters.

Boobies are always the new Abschicken.
Seriously, I’m probably going to make it a regular Friday feature. And yep, I know I have more female readers than male readers (and all straight females too). So it’ll be done with taste, and style, and, well, in the spirit of this particular post.

Actually, here’s a good challenge. I shall post boobie pics on Friday (and retain my giant readership of 300-some hits).
What other light-hearted subjects would you like me to post on in conjunction with those? This is open solely to female readers of this blog. No, it can’t be “women are better than men”… It has to be light and funny. Breast cancer as one reader suggested via IM? Uh, no. Meh, I’ll gladly post on that as I kinda have, but no that doesn’t qualify. Please get a mammogram if you’ve not, but no, that’s not what qualifies.
And Z, you talked about two-headed snakes, Nuff said.

@Gwallan: Abschicken is German for “Post”. My blog theme is *ahem* imperfectly translated. I like its look sufficiently as to prefer it, abschicken and all.
In America a boob can be a foolish person, or a mammary gland. A boobie is always (well, almost always) the latter.

…as for the American alternate definition of boob, I love Merriam-Webster; never has such a coarse term been defined more eruditely: “simpleton, boor, philistine.”
And I have been informed that the most current term for what you’ll get if you don’t exercise is “moob.”

Had to ask about “Abschicken”. Every time I see it I get this image in my mind of a muscular chook. Foghorn Leghorn with barbells.
Heh, you don’t read responses. I responded to that… basically, it’s German for “post” and this theme is imperfectly debugged. I kinda like it.
It’s a sort of very basic IQ test for posters if nothing else.
So most women and leftists never get to post.
