About wAM
Important Note: We’ve recently switched to Spam Karma, and this is killing spam, but it is also killing some legitimate posts. If you are a member-in-good-standing of mabtw.com, your posts will never actively be deleted by me without me telling you so, and why. (And it’s highly, highly unlikely I’ll even do that, however much I may disagree with a post of yours, as long as you abide by the rules below. I prefer to lock posts I find objectionable rather than delete them, as long as they are from people I have some knowledge of. Outright spam, racist crap, excessive swearing just meets the bit-bucket without me ever seeing it).
Like the site it’s hosted on, “Men are Better than Women.com”, this blog may contain much that annoys or offends. As well as other matters, it discusses the three subjects one never should raise at dinner: sex, religion, and politics.
While it does not contain pornographic or obscene content, it is probably not suitable for young readers, or readers of delicate sensibilities, and, to borrow from South Park, may not be suitable for any readers whatsoever.
Expect some satire, some sarcasm and more than a little stirring of the pot to see what crops up.
It goes without saying (but I’ll say it) that the contents of this site are not connected with the mabtw.com site in general, and vice-versa. What appears here is not necessarily the views of Dick Masterson, and what he writes does not necessarily represent my views. In fact it often doesn’t.
Your comments should be civil; but I ask you to think of yourself as being in my living room when you make them. Advertising your own (or any) site is permitted only if it is a personal non-commercial blog or directly relevant to the topic at hand.
Commenters that regularly curse or gratuitously insult other people may be banned. I do not, however, attempt to police comments or edit them, and often will only take action when something is drawn to my attention due to a lack of time and desire to edit a forum.
If your post includes more than a certain number of links, it will be held for moderation. If it includes certain foul language, ditto. The use of several words will cause your post to be banned and destroyed without anyone (even me) seeing it. While I support free speech, since I view this site as being closer to my living room than Hyde Park, you don’t get total free speech here. Don’t like it? Start your own site.
Copyrights: Notwithstanding “Share and Enjoy” (below, and a literary reference, not an instruction to our readers), we try to respect all copyrights and netiquette. If an organization is against deep-linking to stories, and we know this, we will avoid doing so. We will never direct-link images (stealing bandwidth; we’ll host them ourselves). We will link and cite everything we quote (if we found it on the ‘net, otherwise we’ll just cite). We will reproduce photographs and music at scaled-down quality (and in appropriate snippets) that we believe represents fair-dealing (fair use in the USA), and assign credit appropriately. If you are unhappy and feel we have not made fair use of a copywritten work of yours, contact the site administrator and we’ll take it down. We then reserve the right to make fun of you, without prejudice.
We may own shares in any, all, or none of the companies (or their competitors) mentioned on this site, though we’ll try and be clear when we feel we have a direct conflict of interest. Since we don’t tout stocks, (and we urge you not to take any of our suggestions!) that shouldn’t be a problem.
This site does not provide legal, tax, investment or financial advice, and nothing on this site should be construed as soliciting an offer to buy or sell any investment.
